DVD-Structure

By the use of DVD-Authoring all elements of the DVD are brought together. Graphics, menu structures, subtitles and further options are also rendered to it, aside from audio and video properties. These functions makes the DVD an interactive medium with an easy user-access.

In authoring, particular components are brought in a corresponding form.

For videos, "encoding" is done. This means that from any output materials (such as betacam, digital betacam, miniDV, quicktime files, and etc.), a DVD conform MPEG2 video-stream would be appointed.

Similar to audio, the output materials (e.g. PCM, MPEG Layer 1, MPEG Layer 2) are coded in various multi-channel formats („Dolby Digital 5.1 etc.).

The processing of photoshop files (incl. levels) could also be compiled and integrated to your graphics elements such as menus, buttons, and
dia-shows (desktop sizes and resolution is 720 x 576 pixel in 72 dpi.).

While planning DVD projects, the data size of the single components must be accurately calculated to fit the correlating DVD sizes (DVD5, DVD9, etc). Therefore we suggest you to think about a precaucious effective authoring.

Pressing comes right after the authoring, therefore we adviced to make sure that all the functions and elements of the DVD specifications are complied, considering that a bugy code can stagnate a DVD player.
